Ardoino Co-Managed the Strategy That Led to a Significant Increase in USDT’s Market Cap
According to an announcement dated October 13, Paolo Ardoino will become the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the stablecoin company Tether (USDT) in December.
The previous CEO, Jean-Louis van der Velde, will transition to an advisory role at the stablecoin company but will continue to hold the CEO position at the Bitfinex cryptocurrency exchange. On the other hand, Ardoino will continue his roles as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Bitfinex and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for Holepunch.
What Does Tether Aim for Under Ardoino’s Leadership?
Ardoino became the Chief Technology Officer of Tether in 2017 and has since become the public face of the company. According to the announcement, Ardoino co-managed the strategy that led to the stablecoin’s market cap reaching $83 billion.
Under Ardoino’s leadership, the company aims to increase financial participation in new markets and hopes to become a “technology giant that will transform the industry.” It also aims to be an “infrastructure partner in the development of resilient cities.”
Van der Velde praised Ardoino’s promotion and stated that Tether’s rapid growth will continue under Ardoino’s leadership.
Ardoino said:
“Together with our community, we can build a future that lifts the barriers to our freedoms. We remain committed to transparency, security, and to being an unstoppable force in the seamless integration of digital assets into the global financial ecosystem and beyond.”
